I ordered the Pad Thai with chicken and a side of fried rice—both were absolutely delicious! I’m super picky about Pad Thai, especially after living in Houston for three years where my boyfriend and I had a go-to spot we loved. Since moving to Dallas, I’ve struggled to find Thai food that hits the mark—until now. Too bad I don't live here. LOL. While in Portsmouth for work, I decided to give Mom & Son Thai Kitchen a try, and I’m so glad I did. The Pad Thai had thin noodles (just how I like them!) and I got it at a medium spice level. I don’t usually go for spicy food, but it had the perfect kick without being overwhelming. If you're sensitive to spice, I'd recommend going with mild. The fried rice was tasty, though I do wish it had some egg and more veggies beyond just onions. That said, it was still flavorful. Overall, I highly recommend this spot—great food, generous portions, and a lovely surprise while traveling!

I moved here from Brooklyn almost a year ago and have tried many Thai restaurants and none could compare... I tried digging alittle harder on my search and found this one, took the drive over today for lunch and I just want to say this place is AMAZING. The food is a 10/10 the service is a 10/10! The lady whom I’m assuming was the owner was so sweet and provided an amazing service with a clean atmosphere! I can’t wait to go back to try the lad na!

I love this place! It’s the best Thai food spot I’ve found in the area. I have probably been here over 20 times and not once have I been disappointed. The Thai teas are great, the noodle dishes are fantastic, the prices are good, and everyone is so nice. Inside is a casual, cozy atmosphere; good for popping in by yourself or bringing a small group. If you love Thai food this spot delivers.

Tried out a new place this evening. Mom & Son Thai Kitchen in Portsmouth VA. Great authentic Thai meal. FYI dont ask for the level five spicy unless you are well prepared! Excellent meal.

Some of the best massaman beef curry I’ve had. It really hit the spot and the perfect size serving for lunch. I loved the Tom Yum Soup with very fresh shrimp. She held the mushrooms and tomatoes at my request. The only drawback I saw were the appetizers were pricey and came in large portions to share. I didn’t need 6-8. Would be nice if they sold 2 spring rolls and 4 crab Rangoon for single diners.

We ordered beef fried rice , chicken wings, Karaage with side fried rice and Thai lumpia with the Thai iced tea. Everything was delicious and staff was super friendly. Definitely will be back again.

Lovely little family owned thai restaurant, with fresh made to order dishes that are prepared in front for all to see with amazing flavors that you can taste. Not too big, fits maybe 30 or 40 people. Place is clean, with plenty of parking. We had the crab fried rice, basil fried rice with combo meats, curry puffs, that lumpia and 2 pad thai noodles, with Taro milk tea with Boba and lemonade, and sweet tea.

My favorite Thai restaurant! I order Thai Fried Rice once a week because it's so good. If you're looking for authentic, spicy Thai food, you must come here! My girlfriend also loves their Taro Boba milk tea!! The staff are so kind, especially Poi. It's a hidden gem and my favorite restaurant in Portsmouth.
